Project Manager | Mining & Energy | Project Development & Studies
An excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join a growing consultancy delivering project development, studies, and advisory services across the mining and energy sectors.
Working directly with asset owners and project stakeholders, you will take ownership of projects through the front-end development lifecycle, from concept and scoping studies through feasibility and into detailed design. You will play a key role in shaping project outcomes, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring clients receive practical, decision-ready solutions that support successful investment and delivery decisions.
This is a highly visible, client-facing role suited to a commercially minded Project Manager who enjoys bringing people together, driving progress, and maintaining accountability for project outcomes.
Role Opportunity
We are seeking a proven Project Manager with experience delivering studies and project development activities within mining, resources, energy, or heavy industry environments.
Reporting into senior leadership, you will be responsible for defining project requirements, establishing delivery strategies, coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams, and ensuring successful outcomes across scope, schedule, budget, risk, and quality.
You will work closely with clients, engineers, technical specialists, and external consultants to drive project development activities from early-stage concepts through to detailed design readiness. While not expected to provide every technical answer personally, you will bring the judgement, leadership, and commercial awareness needed to guide teams, challenge assumptions, resolve bottlenecks, and maintain project momentum.
This Perth-based position offers exposure to a diverse range of mining and energy projects while providing meaningful influence over major investment and development decisions.

Essential Qualifications & Skills
• Degree qualified in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline
• Demonstrated experience delivering projects within mining, resources, or energy sectors
• Experience managing studies, project development, or front-end engineering activities
• Strong understanding of project lifecycle delivery from concept through detailed design
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and specialist consultants
• Commercial awareness and understanding of project economics and business drivers
• Experience managing scope, schedule, budgets, risks, and project performance
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management capability
• Ability to facilitate decision-making and align project stakeholders
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong reporting and presentation skills for operational and executive stakeholders

Desirable Experience
• Experience managing concept, scoping, pre-feasibility, and feasibility studies
- Experience managing electrical infrastructure, power systems, HV/LV distribution, renewable energy or process plant projects
• Background within gold, mineral processing, mining, or energy projects
• Owner's team or client-side project delivery experience
• Knowledge of capital project development frameworks and stage-gate processes
• Experience supporting investment decisions and business case development
• Exposure to multidisciplinary engineering design management
• Understanding of project controls, scheduling, estimating, and risk management
• Experience transitioning projects into detailed design and execution phases
• Brownfields and sustaining capital project experience

• Lead projects through concept, scoping, feasibility, and detailed design phases
• Establish project objectives, scope, responsibilities, and delivery strategies
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and technical specialists
• Manage project budgets, schedules, risks, and commercial performance
• Facilitate workshops, reviews, and key project decision-making activities
• Ensure engineering deliverables are integrated into clear project outcomes
• Challenge assumptions and identify practical solutions to project issues
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders
• Monitor project progress and provide clear reporting on performance and key decisions
• Coordinate external consultants and technical contributors where required
• Support investment evaluations and project development strategies
• Drive projects to successful completion while maintaining accountability for delivery outcomes
