ASO6 Policy Officer role delivering high-level policy advice, briefings and ministerial correspondence.

Your new companyHays is partnering with a South Australian Government agency to recruit an experienced ASO6 Policy Officer. This opportunity would suit a strong policy professional who is comfortable stepping into a busy environment and providing high-quality advice from day one.
Your new roleWorking within an internal policy function, you will undertake complex policy work and provide clear, considered advice on a range of matters. You will prepare high-quality briefings and ministerial correspondence, research and analyse policy issues, and work closely with internal stakeholders to support sound decision-making.
This is a role where you will need to quickly understand the issues at hand, work through competing priorities and produce concise, accurate written advice within tight timeframes.
What you'll need to succeed

  • Demonstrated experience working at ASO6 level or equivalent in a policy role ideally within a Government setting
  • Strong experience drafting briefings, ministerial and high-level written advice
  • Excellent policy analysis, research, writing and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to quickly understand complex issues and work with limited direction
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • The successful candidate must be willing to have a Hays paid national police clearance run prior to commencing
