Payroll Team Leader

The Opportunity
Our client is a well respected Brisbane accounting firm. With offices based in the CBD and the northern suburbs, you have the option to choose the location that works best for you. Working closely with senior management, you will lead a team ensuring payroll services are delivered accurately, efficiently and to a consistently high standard. Your duties will include:
- Leading, mentoring and developing a team of payroll professionals
- Managing workflow, capacity, deadlines and resource allocation
- Overseeing end-to-end Australian payroll services
- Providing technical guidance on complex payroll matters
- Reviewing payroll reconciliations, statutory reporting and compliance r
- Managing EOFY payroll activities
- Supporting payroll system implementations, migrations, integrations and process improvements
- Working across onshore and offshore teams to ensure consistent service delivery
- Building strong and trusted client relationships
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, automation, systems and workflows
About You
You will be an experienced Australian payroll professional who is ready to take the next step in leadership, or an established payroll leader looking for a role with broader responsibility. Additionally you will have:
- 3+ years' experience processing Australian payroll
- Previous team leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience with payroll systems such as Xero Payroll, Employment Hero, KeyPay, MYOB or similar
- Experience with workforce management systems such as Tanda, Deputy or Humanforce is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
- A genuine interest in technology, process improvement and payroll innovation
- The ability to manage competing priorities
