Jayliano's Strathpine is a family-friendly, buffet-style steak and seafood restaurant located in Strathpine QLD. We are open six days a week, 5PM to late, and specialize in Asian, Mediterranean and Western dishes including a selection of salads, seafood, steak, stir-fry, pasta, curry and homemade desserts.
About the Role
As a Cook, you will play a key role in preparing high-quality dishes while supporting the efficient day-to-day operation of our kitchen. This full-time position is ideal for someone who is passionate about cooking, works well in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to maintaining high food quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items to a consistently high standard.
Assist the Head Chef and kitchen team with daily kitchen operations.
Ensure food preparation, storage, and handling comply with food safety and hygiene regulations.
Contribute ideas for menu development and continuous improvement.
Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment.
Monitor stock levels, report shortages, and assist with inventory management.
Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to maintain a positive and productive workplace.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you should have:
A minimum of two years' experience as a Cook in a fast-paced restaurant.
Experience preparing Western, Mediterranean, and Asian cuisine.
A relevant culinary qualification (preferred but not essential).
A passion for producing high-quality food using fresh ingredients.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
What We Off
Competitive salary of $75,000–$85,000 per annum plus superannuation, based on skills and experience.
Full-time permanent position with a minimum of 38 hours per week.
