About the Role
We are seeking a flexible and motivated Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at Epworth Hospital Richmond on a casual basis. This is a varied role that offers exposure across customer service, administration, pharmacy operations, stock management and medication delivery activities.
Working as part of a collaborative team, you will provide support across multiple departments within the pharmacy, helping to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of services to patients, customers and hospital staff. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, thrives on variety, and is willing to assist wherever needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, hospital staff and pharmacy customers
- Respond to telephone, email and face-to-face enquiries
- Process pharmacy orders, bookings and appointments
- Perform administrative duties including data entry, record management and document preparation
- Assist with retail pharmacy services, including prescription processing support, scripts in/out and front-of-shop activities
- Receive, unpack, check and replenish pharmacy stock
- Assist with inventory management, stock rotation and stocktakes
- Process stock transfers, returns and supplier deliveries
- Deliver medications and pharmacy products throughout the hospital as required
- Maintain accurate records and support quality and compliance processes
- Monitor storage areas, maintain stock levels and check expiry dates
- Support the wider pharmacy team with general operational duties across multiple departments
Please note this role involves physical activity including standing, walking throughout the hospital, bending and manual handling tasks.
About You
Key Requirements:
- Previous customer service experience is essential
- Experience in pharmacy, healthcare, administration, retail, logistics, warehousing or stock management is highly regarded
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment
- A positive, adaptable and team-focused approach
- Comfortable working across different tasks and departments as business needs require
- Reliable, proactive and willing to learn
Previous experience in an Australian pharmacy environment will be highly regarded but is not essential.
