The Opportunity
Due to continued growth, Hall Contracting is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance function across its Australian operations.

Reporting to the General Manager, you'll be responsible for the planning and delivery of maintenance across a diverse fleet of marine vessels and heavy equipment.

Based in Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast, this office-based leadership role offers the opportunity to oversee major equipment refurbishments, improve asset reliability and play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of projects across Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate maintenance activities across Hall Contracting's marine fleet and heavy equipment.
  • Develop and manage maintenance plans, schedules and resource allocation to support operational requirements.
  • Oversee preventative, planned and breakdown maintenance to maximise asset availability and reliability.
  • Manage major repairs, vessel dockings, equipment refurbishments and overhaul projects.
  • Monitor asset performance, identify recurring issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for equipment failures.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, forecasting, procurement and cost control.
  • Coordinate workshop, project and field maintenance teams to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and reporting within the asset management system.
  • Build strong relationships with operational teams, suppliers and subcontractors to support maintenance delivery.
  • Mentor and lead maintenance personnel while promoting a strong safety and performance culture.

About You

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience managing maintenance across a fleet of marine assets such as tugs, barges, multicats, dredgers or similar.
  • Experience managing maintenance of large mobile plant or earthmoving equipment, particularly excavators or draglines, will be highly regarded.
  • Proven experience delivering major equipment refurbishment projects, including vessel dockings or large plant overhauls.
  • Strong background in maintenance planning, project management, budgeting and cost forecasting.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary maintenance teams across workshop and field environments.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance operational priorities, budgets and asset performance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement and safety.
