Build real-time, event-driven .NET Microservices as a Senior .NET Engineer.

  • Rate:$950 per day
  • Location: Melbourne CBD, hybrid (most of the team is in 2 days a week)
  • The good stuff: Solve real business problems, not just close tickets

About the opportunity:

Fancy getting your hands on the real-time systems behind a busy, well established online business? This team has great products, plenty of traffic and an event-driven platform that keeps it all humming.

As a Senior .NET Engineer you'll design and ship .NET Core microservices that chat to each other through event streams. You'll work alongside product, data, cloud and architecture folks to figure out what actually moves the needle for the business. Experience in a similar online or high-traffic environment will help you hit the ground running.

The role:

  • Design and build C# / .NET Core microservices in an event-driven architecture
  • Build services on AWS that stay up and scale when traffic spikes
  • Own what you ship: testing, CI/CD and keeping it healthy in production
  • Shape solutions with the Technical Lead and keep them documented and easy to support
  • Share what you know and help lift the bar for the wider engineering team

What you'll bring:

  • 7+ years of commercial C# / .NET Core development
  • Hands-on Kafka (or similar streaming tech)
  • Solid event-driven design and microservices architecture experience
  • AWS know-how across VPC, EC2, ECS, RDS, CloudFormation and CloudWatch
  • AI experience

Bonus points for RabbitMQ, NUnit and test automation, Docker / Jenkins / Ansible, using AI tools day to day in development, or an AWS certification.

The team and culture

  • Humble, curious people who like learning fast
  • Problem solvers who chase the real outcome, not just the task
  • Agile, iterative delivery focused on adding value
  • Everyone owns their work and backs each other up

What's on offer

  • 12-month contract
  • Start ASAP, or after a 2-week notice period
  • Hybrid: officially 3 days in the Melbourne CBD office, though most of the team does 2
