Due to continued project activity, they are looking to appoint an experienced Site HSE Advisor to join their team on a major renewable energy project in regional NSW.
About the Role
Reporting to the Project HSE Manager, this is a site-based HSE role with a particular focus on warehousing, logistics, material handling, plant and equipment safety.
You will work closely with the site operations, warehouse and logistics teams to provide practical HSE guidance, ensure compliance and identify opportunities to continually improve safety performance across the project.
This is a hands-on role suited to an HSE professional who is comfortable working in operational environments and engaging directly with supervisors, contractors and project leadership.
FIFO from Sydney is preferred, however candidates based in Melbourne, Brisbane or Adelaide will also be considered.
Duties
- Provide practical HSE support across warehouse, logistics and site operations
- Develop, implement and monitor HSE plans, procedures and systems
- Conduct risk assessments, inspections and audits across warehouse, loading/unloading and plant areas
- Ensure safe operation and maintenance of mobile plant, equipment and heavy vehicles
- Review pre-starts, maintenance requirements and operator competencies
- Investigate incidents and near misses, and implement corrective and preventative actions
- Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks and training relating to warehouse safety, manual handling, forklifts and plant/equipment
- Support contractor and subcontractor management, including reviewing documentation and training requirements
- Ensure compliance with NSW WHS legislation and relevant NHVR requirements
- Maintain accurate HSE records and reporting on site safety performance
Skills & Experience
- HSE experience across warehousing, logistics, and plant and equipment environments
- Experience working on major construction, infrastructure, resources, energy or renewable projects highly regarded
- Strong understanding of NSW WHS legislation and compliance requirements
- Practical knowledge of NHVR, heavy vehicle movements and transport operations
- Experience managing contractor and subcontractor HSE requirements
- Strong understanding of risk assessments, safe work procedures and safety systems
- Experience with mobile plant, forklifts, rigging or other heavy equipment advantageous
- Diploma in Work Health & Safety or equivalent, CertIV WHS will be considered
- ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001 auditing experience or qualifications highly regarded
- Current Australian driver's licence
