Tecside Group is recruiting an experienced Fire Alarm Inspection & Testing Technician on behalf of a leading fire protection company. This is a great opportunity for a qualified technician to join a team dedicated to protecting lives, property and the environment across commercial, industrial and residential sites.

ABOUT THE ROLE
You'll be responsible for the routine inspection, testing and maintenance of fire protection systems in line with AS1851, ensuring the safety and reliability of fire systems across a range of client sites.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspect, test and maintain fire alarm systems in accordance with AS1851
  • Test smoke and heat detectors, manual call points and control panels
  • Conduct fault diagnosis, troubleshooting and minor repairs
  • Perform functional testing on EWIS, WIP and PA/evacuation systems
  • Inspect and test exit and emergency lighting to AS2293
  • Inspect passive fire protection measures — fire doors, penetrations, fire-rated walls and ceilings
  • Accurately document all inspections, test results and corrective actions
  • Respond to urgent service calls and provide on-site emergency support

ABOUT YOU

  • Certificate III in Fire Protection Inspection & Testing (or equivalent trade qualification)
  • Experience with fire alarm, EWIS, emergency lighting and passive fire inspections
  • Solid understanding of AS1851 and other relevant Australian fire safety standards
  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting and report-writing skills
  • Current driver's licence
  • Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces and travelling to client sites
  • FPAS accreditation highly regarded
