About the position:
An exciting 18 month fixed term opportunity exists for a Specialist Trade Cabramurra Township to join our Facilities team in Cabramurra, NSW.
Reporting to the Facilities and Infrastructure Maintenance Manager and working closely with the Township Accommodation Officers and Facilities Maintenance Lead, this Specialist Trade position is vital to ensuring the availability and reliability of the Cabramurra Township. In this dynamic role, you will execute a range of specialty trade tasks, provide plant maintenance support and perform general township maintenance. Your work will help maintain a safe, clean and positive environment for the region, while ensuring the Cabramurra water supply and Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) operate smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining the highest standard of health and safety by facilitating safe work and leading by example for colleagues and contractors under SHL’s Control of Work permit process.
- Conducting routine inspections, resolving defects, executing planned maintenance within your trade specialty and issuing work permits for contractors.
- Operating the Cabramurra Sewage Treatment Plant and Water Filtration Plant, providing testing samples for regulatory compliance and managing emergency alarm responses.
- Maintaining grounds and vegetation (including trimming, mowing and revegetation) and assisting the Accommodation team to maximise occupancy.
- Participating in the township on-call roster to respond to fire and medical events as well as plant faults.
About the location:
This position is based at Cabramurra in the stunning Kosciuszko National Park, working a 8/6 roster on a DIDO arrangement.
About you:
- An appropriate trade qualification in Plumbing, mechanical fitting, electrical or carpentry etc.
- Certificate III in Wastewater Management and Certificate III in Drinking Water Management is highly preferred.
- The capability to perform duties across diverse environments including working at heights, inside confined spaces and operating specialised plant machinery.
- Competency in operating heavy vehicles, forklifts and standard site fleet, while holding all necessary operational licenses.
- Proficiency in digital systems and strong communication skills to proactively mitigate risks.
- A demonstrated dedication to safe work practices and treating all relationships as true partnerships.
