6 month contract
Truganina, Melbourne
$500-$600 p/d

About the opportunity:

An ASX listed retailer behind some of Australia's best known brands has a busy program of store openings, refits and hardware refreshes coming up. Based at their distribution centre, you'll make sure every device leaves the building ready to trade, so store teams can plug in and go from day one.

What you'll be doing:

  • Unpacking, staging and building store and staff hardware to a defined standard
  • Enrolling Windows, POS and mobile devices through Intune and Autopilot
  • Setting up POS peripherals including scanners, receipt printers, cash drawers and customer displays
  • Running burn in and diagnostic checks to catch faulty kit before it ships
  • Preparing in store screens, kiosks and back office devices for each brand
  • Keeping serial numbers, asset tags and device records up to date in the CMDB
  • Handling warranty claims and RMAs with hardware vendors
  • Writing and refining build guides and checklists so every build is consistent
  • Supporting store rollouts on site, including some after hours and weekend work

What we need to see:

  • 1 to 3 years in hardware build, deployment, imaging or IT field support
  • Hands on experience with retail tech such as POS terminals, handhelds, scanners and printers
  • Device enrolment experience using Intune and Autopilot or a similar endpoint management tool
  • Solid hardware troubleshooting and component replacement skills
  • Good habits around asset tracking within an ITSM tool or CMDB
  • Networking basics, including TCP/IP, DHCP and checking link status
  • A sharp eye for detail and comfort working to checklists and deadlines
  • Willingness to lift boxed equipment regularly and travel to stores when needed

Bonus points:

  • CompTIA A+ or Network+
  • Microsoft Endpoint Administrator Associate
  • Exposure to Cisco Meraki
  • Previous multisite retail experience
