Your New CompanyJoin a leading resources organisation supporting large-scale coal operations across Australia. Based in Brisbane, this role sits within a specialist Control Systems team focused on delivering operational technology and automation projects that improve safety, reliability and production performance across critical mining assets.
Your New RoleReporting to the Superintendent Coal Control Systems Operations, you will provide technical expertise and project support across a portfolio of Control Systems and Operational Technology initiatives. Working closely with site stakeholders, technology teams and vendors, you will help deliver projects that enhance plant performance, increase reliability and reduce operational risk.Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the execution of Control Systems projects and improvement initiatives.
- Providing specialist technical advice and responding to Control Systems-related queries.
- Ensuring appropriate technical governance and compliance across project activities.
- Driving outcomes that improve safety, reliability, throughput and operational performance.
- Building strong working relationships with site teams, technology functions and external vendors.
- Supporting vendor and contract management activities to ensure successful project delivery.
What You'll Need to SucceedTo be successful in this role, you will have a strong background in Control Systems Engineering within mining, industrial or heavy process environments.You will bring:
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Experience configuring and programming Control Systems platforms including CitectSCADA, OPC platforms, Citrix environments and virtual computing platforms.
- Strong PLC experience across Allen Bradley, Schneider and/or Siemens systems.
- Knowledge of industrial communication networks including Profibus, Profinet and Modbus.
- Experience working with functional safety systems, safety PLCs, variable speed drives, actuators and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with IT/OT service management tools such as ServiceNow.
- Experience managing vendors, contractors and technical service providers.
- Infrastructure management experience within IT, Operational Technology or process control environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Functional Safety qualifications such as TV Certified Engineer highly desirable.
