A local government organisation is seeking a customer-focused Parking Officer

Your new companyA local government organisation is seeking a customer-focused Parking Officer to join its compliance team. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong customer service experience who enjoys working outdoors, engaging with the community and handling a variety of situations throughout the day. Candidates from hospitality, retail, transport or other customer-facing environments are encouraged to apply.
Your new roleAs a Parking Officer, you will work out in the community, undertaking parking patrols and helping ensure parking requirements are followed fairly and consistently.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting parking patrols across streets and public parking areas
  • Monitoring vehicles against parking restrictions
  • Issuing infringement notices where required
  • Providing clear information to members of the public
  • Responding professionally to questions, complaints and disputes
  • Using strong communication and de-escalation skills during challenging interactions
  • Recording observations and maintaining accurate records
  • Working independently while representing the organisation professionally

This is an active, field-based role involving extended periods on your feet and regular interaction with members of the public.
What you'll need to succeedStrong customer service skills are essential for this position. You will need to be confident speaking with different members of the community while remaining calm and professional when conversations become challenging.
You will bring:

  • Strong experience in customer service or another public-facing role
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence dealing with complaints and difficult conversations
  • Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
  • A calm, respectful and professional approach
  • The ability to follow procedures and work independently
  • Good attention to detail
  • A willingness to work outdoors and spend extended periods walking and standing
  • A current Class C Driver Licence
