Claims Advisor required for a 6-month Brisbane CBD contract managing complex CTP and personal injury claims.

Your new company
Hays is partnering with a Queensland Government organisation to recruit an experienced Claims (Senior) Advisor for an initial six-month contract based in Brisbane CBD. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled insurance claims professional to manage a complex portfolio of personal injury claims while contributing to outcomes that support Queensland road users. Working within a high-performing claims team, you will be responsible for managing claims from assessment through to resolution, applying best-practice claims management principles and exercising sound judgement when investigating liability, damages and settlement options. This role requires strong stakeholder engagement skills, as you will work closely with claimants, legal representatives, medical professionals and external service providers.
Your new role

  • Manage a portfolio of complex personal injury and CTP claims
  • Investigate liability and assess claims outcomes in accordance with legislation and policy
  • Review medical evidence and determine appropriate damages assessments
  • Develop and implement rehabilitation strategies where required
  • Liaise with solicitors, barristers, investigators and medical providers
  • Negotiate settlements and manage claim resolution activities
  • Represent the organisation in settlement conferences and court-related matters as required
  • Maintain accurate claim estimates, records and documentation
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

What you'll need to succeed

  • Demonstrated experience managing CTP claims within a legislative claims environment
  • Alternatively, strong general insurance claims experience with exposure to complex claims management
  • Well-developed investigation, negotiation and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of personal injury claims, liability assessment and damages evaluation
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capabilities
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining quality outcomes
