Lead major IT infrastructure, network and building technology projects across a complex campus environment

Your new company
Join a leading South Australian organisation operating within the higher education sector. Based in the Adelaide CBD, it supports a complex, multi-campus technology environment and is investing significantly in infrastructure modernisation, capital works and technology uplift.
Your new role
As Senior IT Project Manager, you will lead major infrastructure, network, cloud and building technology projects from initiation through to operational handover. The portfolio includes campus network uplift, firewall and network security initiatives, ACI data centre networking, on-premises to cloud migration, data centre modernisation and the standardisation of technology environments across multiple sites. You will also manage the IT components of capital works and lead technology delivery for new buildings and campus developments. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading complex infrastructure and technology projects from initiation and business case development through to implementation, transition and benefits realisation
  • Delivering network modernisation and uplift initiatives across multiple campus locations
  • Overseeing firewall, network security and connectivity projects, including the implementation of modern enterprise firewall technologies
  • Managing data centre network initiatives, including Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure environments
  • Leading on-premises to cloud migration projects involving locally hosted data and technology services
  • Coordinating infrastructure upgrades to bring campuses, buildings and technology environments to a consistent organisational standard
  • Managing the technology components of capital works initiatives, including new buildings, refurbishments and campus developments
  • Working with facilities, property, construction, technology and business teams to integrate technology requirements into broader building programs
  • Developing and maintaining integrated project plans, budgets, delivery roadmaps, critical paths and dependency maps
  • Managing multiple concurrent and interdependent projects across infrastructure, cloud, security, facilities and operational technology
  • Establishing effective project governance, steering committees and executive reporting

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed, you will bring:

  • 10+ years of experience delivering complex ICT projects in large enterprise environments
  • Strong experience across infrastructure, network modernisation, cloud migration or data centre projects
  • Experience delivering technology within capital works, building developments or major facilities programs
  • Demonstrated success managing concurrent projects with significant technical dependencies
  • Advanced governance, planning, financial, risk and vendor management capability
  • Confidence working with executives, technical teams, construction partners and external suppliers
  • Experience preparing business cases, investment proposals, board papers and executive reports

Experience within higher education, government, utilities or another complex stakeholder environment will be highly regarded. A relevant qualification or equivalent experience is expected, with PMP, CPPM or PRINCE2 certification advantageous.
What you'll get in return
This is a 12-month Adelaide CBD contract offering the opportunity to lead visible, organisation-wide infrastructure projects across a major multi-campus environment. Hybrid working is available, with a minimum of three days per week on site.The role is expected to commence in October 2026 and operates across a standard 40-hour week. You will need to provide your own laptop, and a mandatory shutdown applies across December and January.
