Renumeration: $46.33 - $54.15 (depending on experience and qualifications) + overtime/penalties

Help Keep One of Australia's Most Unique Railways Running Safely

Join our Skitube Maintenance Team as a Track Inspector and help maintain one of Australia’s most unique railway systems. The Skitube Alpine Railway is a Swiss-designed rack railway travelling from Bullocks Flat to Perisher Valley and Blue Cow Mountain, including one of Australia’s longest underground train tunnels, reaching depths of up to 550m. 

Based at Bullocks Flat, you’ll be responsible for patrolling, inspecting and reporting on the condition of the Skitube track and infrastructure, as well as undertaking maintenance and repairs to keep this vital part of our operations safe and reliable. 

We’re looking for someone with strong attention to detail, practical problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety. 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Inspect and patrol Skitube track and infrastructure
  • Identify defects and complete or arrange repairs
  • Inspect rail, rack, sleepers, fasteners, points, crossings, drainage and signage
  • Record inspection results in maintenance system
  • Operate Track Maintenance Vehicles
  • Assist with train maintenance and electrical works
  • Maintain drains, waterways and platforms
  • Work independently at night during winter
  • Maintain emergency response competencies

What We’re Looking For

  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Practical experience with fitting, machining, electrical or hand/power tools
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a safety-critical environment
  • Reliable, punctual and enthusiastic approach
  • Approximately 2 years’ railway maintenance experience desirable
  • Track Maintenance qualifications desirable
