Contracts Specialist

Our client is a leading organisation within the resources sector with a significant pipeline of capital projects across its WA operations.
An opportunity is available for an experienced Contracts Specialist to join a high-performing project procurement team, supporting the delivery of a diverse portfolio of construction projects.
About the Role
You will provide end-to-end contracts and procurement support across a portfolio of capital projects.
This is a commercially focused role combining strategic sourcing and contract formation with hands-on post-award contract management. You will work closely with project delivery teams and contractors, providing commercial advice and ensuring contracts are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement and contracting activities across capital projects
- Develop sourcing and contracting strategies for project packages
- Manage tender processes, evaluations, commercial negotiations and contract awards
- Draft and negotiate construction, services, supply and consultancy agreements
- Provide commercial and contractual advice to project delivery teams
- Undertake post-award contract administration and contractor management
- Assess and manage contractor claims, variations and contractual entitlements
- Support commercial negotiations and dispute resolution
- Monitor contractor compliance and commercial performance
- Build strong relationships across project, procurement and contractor stakeholder groups
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout the contract lifecycle
About You
To be successful, you will ideally have:
- Strong contracts and procurement experience within resources, mining, construction or major projects
- Demonstrated post-award claims management experience
- Strong understanding of variations, contractual entitlement and commercial negotiations
- Tendering, evaluation, contract drafting and negotiation capability
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to provide practical contractual advice
- Excellent stakeholder and contractor management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced project environment
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Law, Commercial Management or a related discipline will be highly regarded
