Exciting Opportunity with a development company
A highly successful, development company is looking to expand their finance team in Brisbane. This new vacancy for a Bookkeeper to work closely with the Financial Controller and support the business's continued success. This is a hands-on transactional role.
The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to improving accounting procedures and policies, and to assist the Financial Controller to enhance team efficiency and compliance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with bookkeeping for a group of entities:
- Prepare reconciliations and/or check reconciliation of bank accounts
- Reconciliation of all inter-entity company loans and invoicing
- Coding MYOB files
- Credit card reconciliations
- Assist with Accounts Payable when necessary
- Sound payroll knowledge
- Assist with Workcover declarations and other calculations
- Assistance with managing commercial leasing
- Ensuring deadlines are met
- Assist the Financial Controller
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 3-5 years experience in an accounting/bookkeeping role
- Experience in commercial real estate, development or construction valued.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software, MYOB experience preferable
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to problem solve and find system and process efficiencies.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
PERFORMANCE GOALS:
- Ensure all work is submitted on or before the scheduled deadlines, meeting the expectations of the finance team and management
- Enhance proficiency in accounting software and other relevant tools, with a focus on leveraging technology for improved efficiency
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations, implementing any necessary adjustments to ensure compliance
- Positively contribute to organizational culture
