Radley Optical is an independent Cleveland practice offering comprehensive eye care alongside complete optical services and a carefully selected eyewear collection. Backed by more than 25 years of experience, the team supports patients across everything from everyday vision care and eyewear to children’s vision, dry eye and ongoing eye health management.

We’re looking for a part-time Optical Assistant to join our small team. The days and hours are flexible and can be discussed around the availability of the right person.

Optical experience would be valuable but isn’t essential. You may be bringing experience from reception, retail, healthcare or another customer-focused environment. What matters most is that you are organised, attentive and comfortable working with people.

The role

You’ll support patients throughout their experience with the practice. Your responsibilities will include:

• Welcoming patients and coordinating appointments
• Answering phone and in-practice enquiries
• Processing payments and completing administration
• Supporting eyewear collections, adjustments and frame repairs
• Learning to assist with frame selection and lens recommendations
• Contributing to social media where your skills and interests align

• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• A willingness to learn about optics and eye health
• Availability to share alternate Saturday mornings
• Previous optical, reception, healthcare or retail experience will be regarded favourably
• Social media knowledge would be an advantage 

You’ll receive practical guidance from an experienced mentor, with opportunities to broaden your optical knowledge over time.

This role will suit someone who enjoys being useful, notices the small things and wants to become a trusted part of an independent practice.
