Our team manages and executes large-scale capital projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety and leave a lasting positive legacy in the communities we engage with.

What you’ll do:

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our Sustaining Capital team in Perth, supporting a portfolio of Tier 1 mining clients across Western Australia.

Working across a variety of commodities and brownfield mining environments, you’ll deliver structural engineering solutions for sustaining capital, upgrades, modifications and remediation projects. This is a hands-on technical role suited to an engineer with strong mining and materials handling experience who is comfortable working with both existing and new structures.

  • Deliver structural engineering and design across brownfield mining and minerals processing projects

  • Design and check structural steelwork, reinforced concrete and foundations

  • Work across conveyors, transfer stations, crushing and screening structures, chutes, pipe racks, platforms and equipment support structures

  • Assess existing structures and develop modification, remediation and strengthening solutions

  • Provide engineering support through design, fabrication and construction and review structural models, drawings and vendor information

  • Respond to technical queries and work closely with designers, engineers, contractors and client teams

  • Check and review the work of other engineers and provide technical guidance where required

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

  • Significant experience as a Structural Engineer within mining, minerals processing or heavy industrial projects

  • Strong background working within an EPCM or engineering consultancy environment

  • Strong structural steel and reinforced concrete design capability

  • Experience with materials handling infrastructure, particularly conveyors and associated structures

  • Sound knowledge of Australian structural design standards

  • Ability to work independently, undertake checking and solve complex structural problems

  • Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with multidisciplinary and client teams

Why WSP?

You’ll join an established Sustaining Capital team delivering a diverse pipeline of work for some of WA’s largest mining operators. With projects spanning multiple commodities and operating assets, you’ll have the opportunity to work on varied and technically challenging brownfield projects rather than being tied to one major greenfield development.

If you’re an experienced structural engineer who enjoys solving complex problems within existing mining operations, we’d love to hear from you.
