We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing with a strong background in Remote Area Nursing in Birdsville, Queensland.

About the Role
This is a unique remote healthcare position where you will be the sole clinical lead within the clinic.
The service supports the local community and surrounding rural properties, delivering primary healthcare and emergency response support as required. Emergency retrievals are coordinated through appropriate emergency services and retrieval providers.

- Management of the Primary Health Clinic
- Primary healthcare delivery
- Community health support
- Emergency response coordination
- After-hours on-call and recall responsibilities
- Clinical leadership and decision making

Start: 29 September 2026
Finish: 23 October 2026
Monday to Friday | 8:00am - 4:30pm
On-call and recall required after hours and weekends
Essential Requirements
- Current AHPRA Registration
- Remote Area Nursing experience
- Previous Director of Nursing or senior rural nursing leadership experience
- Current Basic Life Support
- Strong emergency assessment and management skills
- Ability to work independently in an isolated environment
- Demonstrated rural and remote nursing experience
Highly Regarded
- Adult Advanced Life Support
- Paediatric Advanced Life Support (
- Triage competency
- Previous remote Queensland experience
- Primary Health Clinic experience
