About the Opportunity
Looking for regular afternoon work and the opportunity to learn new skills?
 
Signature Staff is recruiting a Labourer to join our client’s timber truss and wall frame manufacturing team in Bungalow, Cairns. You will help produce timber components for residential and commercial construction projects.
 
You will initially be employed by Signature Staff during the temporary assignment, with the opportunity to progress to permanent employment with our client.
 
The Role
Working alongside the production team, your responsibilities will include:

• Assembling timber wall frames and assisting with roof truss production
• Operating manufacturing equipment safely following training
• Reading and following production paperwork and measurements
• Checking your work for accuracy and maintaining quality standards
• Following workplace safety procedures
• Keeping the work area clean and organised

 
About You
We are looking for someone who:

• Is reliable, punctual and willing to learn
• Enjoys hands-on, physical work
• Has a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Works well within a team
• Pays attention to detail and takes pride in their work
• Is committed to workplace safety
• Has reliable transport arrangements for the afternoon roster

 
Previous manufacturing, construction, timber or factory experience would be an advantage, but is not essential. A current LF forklift licence is desirable, with training available for the right person.
 
Hours and Pay
– Monday to Thursday: 3:00 pm-11:00 pm
– Friday: 1:00 pm-7:00 pm
– No weekend work
– Pay: $30-$40 per hour during the Signature Staff assignment
 
Paid hours, breaks and applicable loadings will be confirmed before commencement.
