About the Role:
This role is for an experienced Assistant Accountant based at our CRG office in Carrum Downs, Melbourne, and forms part of the Finance team.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will see you responsible for managing the day to day financial and administration functions includes:
- Maintain and follows sound accounting practices and procedures.
- Experience in month-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger journal preparation and posting.
- Ability to review, analyse, and understand Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and identify key business drivers and variances.
- Assist the Finance Manager and business stakeholders with forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning activities.
- Creating, reconciling, and reporting an accounting pack with sufficient supporting documentation.
- Review and process the group fixed asset register
- Perform inventory reconciliations and support inventory control processes
- Create, distribute, and review annual branch FBT pack.
- Prepare group carbon emissions’ report.
- Contribute to the effectiveness of the team in terms of quality and productivity.
- Ad hoc assignments, projects and performing any other functions as required by the Finance department.
Key Skills and Experience Required:
- Degree Qualified
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word. Experience using Power Query and Power BI for data analysis, reporting, and process improvement will be highly regarded.
- Proven experience in managing end of month and forecasting processes.
- A minimum 1 years' experience in a similar role with strong and proven work ethics.
- Demonstrates positive involvement and interaction with the overall team both at an individual, team & management level.
