We Are Key Assets Australia

Key Assets is a leading not-for-profit children, family and community services agency, founded in Australia in 2007. We provide foster care & family services. Operating across all states, the ACT and Norfolk Island, our purpose is to achieve positive and lasting outcomes for children, families, and communities. To achieve that, we need people like you!

We pride ourselves on being inclusive and embrace and celebrate the diversity of all people within our communities. Our diversity helps us provide the best support possible to carers, families, children and young people and all our external stakeholders.

About the role:

At Key Assets Australia we are committed to embedding culturally safe practices, including a strong First Nations voice, across the organisation.

Working closely with our ACT leadership team and the Territory Director, the Cultural Practice Lead provides cultural leadership and guidance across KAA ACT, delivering services in line with the Our Booris, Our Way report, and the Aboriginal Placement Principle. This important role promotes the wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people by strengthening cultural safety and supporting culturally informed practice.

The CPL supports staff, carers and children by ensuring they remain connected to culture, community, family and identity.

This opportunity is permanent, part-time at 0.8FTE (4 days a week). The SCHADS rate for this position is $58.37 - $60.95 per hour (note hourly rate is rounded), equating to an annual pro-rated salary of $92,269.63 - $96,352.26 per annum plus super and NFP salary packaging (up to $15,900 per annum).

About you:

Alongside a strong understanding of and connection to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, you will have:

  • Proven ability to build strong alliances and partnerships with Aboriginal community organisations
  • Experience working in child protection, out of home care or family preservation, with the ability to advocate for children, young people and carers

While not compulsory, qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Behavioural Science or similar will be highly regarded.

Please note this is an Identified position; identifying as Australian Aboriginal and/ or Torres Strait Islander is considered a ‘genuine occupational qualification’ in accordance with section 33(b) of the Discrimination Act 1991 (ACT).
