Join Our Team as a Catering Assistant at Brisbane Airport!
We are seeking a detail-oriented Wash and Catering Assistant to join our dynamic team. Utilise your skills to prepare fresh ingredients and ensure high standards of hygiene and safety in a fast-paced environment with a respected aviation catering company that values efficiency and teamwork.
Flexible availability for a 7-day rotating Roster a Must!
Your Responsibilities:
- Chop, slice, and dice ingredients with precision
- Ensure food meets presentation and portioning standards
- Follow food safety rules and maintain a clean workspace
- Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to meet production targets
- Assist in stock management and waste reduction
Wash Department Duties:
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment in a high-volume environment
- Wash, sanitise, and properly store kitchen utensils, trays, and catering equipment
- Follow strict hygiene, food safety, and airline compliance standards
- Support turnaround of catering equipment to meet tight flight schedules
- Report any equipment faults or hygiene issues promptly
- Work efficiently as part of a team to keep operations running smoothly
The Must-Haves:
- Previous kitchen, food prep, or cleaning experience preferred
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Team-oriented mindset and good communication skills
- Physical fitness to handle manual tasks, standing for long periods, and repetitive work
- Flexibility to work various shifts including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
