Project Manager - Workforce Management Systems

Organisation: Sonic Healthcare Employment: 12-month fixed-term contract Location, working arrangements and remuneration: To be confirmed

The opportunity
Join a complex healthcare group to deliver workforce management technology across multiple businesses. Your initial focus will be a phased UKG rollout, working closely with the hiring manager, application team, business stakeholders and vendor resources.
A revised delivery plan and governance framework have been established. You will take ownership of day-to-day execution, build alignment across stakeholders and keep delivery focused on agreed business outcomes. Following the initial rollout, there is a pipeline of further workforce systems work. The role may also support completion of an existing Salesforce deployment, with scope to be confirmed.

Key responsibilities
*
Execute and maintain the phased UKG delivery plan, coordinating milestones, resources, dependencies and business readiness across participating entities.
*
Understand business priorities and translate them into clear deliverables, decisions and realistic delivery commitments.
*
Coordinate internal application specialists and vendor resources, constructively challenging estimates, progress and blockers.
*
Manage risks, issues, actions and dependencies, escalating decisions promptly and presenting practical options when constraints arise.
*
Provide clear status reporting and maintain project governance and documentation.
*
Coordinate testing, deployment readiness, cutover and transition activities with accountable business and technical owners.
*
Build effective relationships across a federated organisation, recognising different operational requirements and stakeholder priorities.
*
Introduce practical delivery improvements, including appropriate Agile and hybrid practices, to improve transparency, prioritisation and team communication.
Experience and capabilities
*
Demonstrated experience managing technology implementations and coordinating business, technical and vendor teams.
*
Exposure to workforce management, time and attendance, rostering or related payroll system implementations. Direct UKG experience is highly desirable; deep product configuration expertise is not required.
*
Sufficient understanding of workforce systems to question delivery assumptions and understand how system decisions affect business operations and pay-related processes.
*
Strong communication and active listening skills, with an ability to explain technical information in business language and confirm shared understanding.
*
A practical approach to planning and problem-solving, including phased delivery and prioritisation within time and resource constraints.
*
Confidence holding delivery teams accountable while maintaining constructive working relationships.
*
Experience applying both structured project management and Agile practices, adapting the approach to organisational maturity.
*
Comfort working across multiple business units in an environment where delivery processes are evolving.
Desirable background
*
Delivery across multiple entities, locations or operating businesses.
*
Experience with workforce requirements involving awards or enterprise agreements.
*
Healthcare or another operationally complex workforce environment.
*
Familiarity with Jira, Atlassian products and SharePoint.
*
Salesforce implementation or deployment experience.

What success looks like
The phased rollout progresses against agreed commitments, stakeholders understand what will be delivered and when, and risks and decisions are visible early. Delivery teams have clear ownership, and the project transitions into ongoing support with appropriate business readiness and documentation.

This PD is based on the hiring brief. Location, remuneration, reporting title, commencement date and final deployment milestones will be confirmed during the recruitment process.
