Role Description/Criteria

We are seeking an energetic and dynamic Specialist Instrumental Music Teacher to deliver high quality classes to our students. 

The successful applicant will be willing and able to fulfil the following Key Selection Criteria, demonstrated through:

  • The skills and ability to engage, inspire and empower students through a rich and rewarding instrumental music program.

  • Enthusiasm, motivation and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • Appropriate qualifications and current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).

Responsibilities and Criteria for  FTE 0.2 include:

? Teaching a range of musical instruments in weekly lessons to students in 4 or 5 classes of Years P-6.

? Working collaboratively with the Performing Arts team to contributing to our biannual School Production and other school performances.

? Participating in and contribute to various school-organised events and activities as required.

? Monitoring the progress of each student and providing meaningful, regular feedback on their learning and musical development, and writing formal academic reports twice yearly.

? Demonstrating competency and confidence in the use of digital technologies to support teaching, learning and communication.

Responsibilities and Criteria for applicants interested in 0.4 FTE would also include:

? Teaching additional small-group instrumental music lessons in drums, keyboard and guitar, and other duties as negotiated.
