Help Shape the Future of Veterinary Practice

Most veterinary clinics don’t currently employ Veterinary Technologists in dedicated roles.

At Apiam Animal Health, we believe Veterinary Technologists bring a unique combination of scientific knowledge, clinical reasoning and technical expertise that can significantly enhance patient care and support veterinary teams. That’s why we’re excited to introduce a dedicated Veterinary Technologist position as part of the founding team at Sanctuary Cove Vet.

Opening on 9 November 2026, Sanctuary Cove Vet is a brand-new boutique companion animal practice being purpose built in one of Australia’s most prestigious waterfront communities.

This is a rare opportunity to help establish a role that remains relatively uncommon within Australian private practice and demonstrate the value Veterinary Technologists can bring to modern veterinary medicine.

A Clinic Designed Around Excellence

Sanctuary Cove Vet has been intentionally designed as a boutique practice where strong client relationships, continuity of care and thoughtful medicine are at the heart of everything we do.

We’ll open with a close-knit team of veterinarians, nurses, client care professionals and a Veterinary Technologist, all working together to create something special from day one.

About the Role

Working alongside our veterinarians and nursing team, you’ll apply advanced scientific knowledge, clinical reasoning and technical skills to support patient care, clinical efficiency and evidence based veterinary practice.

You will be involved in:

  • Advanced patient monitoring and anaesthesia support
  • Diagnostic laboratory procedures
  • Imaging and diagnostic support
  • Medical and surgical patient care
  • Client education and communication
  • Clinical protocols and workflow improvement
  • Supporting evidence based veterinary practice
  • Mentoring and developing technical nursing skills within the team

This is not simply a senior nursing position. It is an opportunity to help shape one of the first dedicated Veterinary Technologist roles within our companion animal clinic network.

About You

You will have:

  • A Bachelor of Veterinary Technology or equivalent qualification
  • Strong clinical and technical skills
  • Experience in diagnostics, patient monitoring and imaging
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A passion for learning and evidence-based practice

Most importantly, you’ll be excited by the opportunity to help build something new.

The Best of Both Worlds

Sanctuary Cove Vet will work closely with Hope Island Central Vet and Ormeau Vet, creating a collaborative local network of veterinary professionals.

Hope Island Central Vet will also feature advanced imaging capabilities, including CT, creating exciting opportunities for collaboration, learning and exposure to more advanced diagnostics.

What We Offer

  • A rare opportunity to establish a dedicated Veterinary Technologist role
  • A premium purpose-built clinic
  • The opportunity to shape systems and workflows from day one
  • Structured induction and onboarding
  • Continuing professional development support
  • Career development opportunities within Apiam Animal Health
  • Employee Assistance Program and wellbeing support
  • Staff discounts for your own pets
  • Retail, travel, health and lifestyle discounts

Build Something from the Beginning

Opportunities like this remain rare within Australian veterinary practice.

If you’re excited by the opportunity to help shape the future of Veterinary Technologist roles while building a brand-new clinic from the ground up, we’d love to hear from you.
