The Role
The School we are assisting are seeking an experienced and passionate Teacher in Meadowbrook.

This is an opportunity to teach in an alternative learning environment where relationships come first and your approach can make a genuine difference to young people who have disengaged from traditional schooling.

As a Teacher, you will plan and deliver the Australian Curriculum and QCAA Curriculum across relevant year levels, using flexible, individualised and differentiated approaches to meet the needs of each student.
You will work closely with Youth Workers, Teacher Aides and the Welfare team to support students' learning, wellbeing and engagement. The role will also involve monitoring academic progress, assessment and reporting, behaviour management, pastoral care and supporting students with their future education, training and employment pathways.
The role includes 20 contact hours and 15 hours dedicated to planning, meetings and collaboration with your team.

Role Requirements

• Bachelor of Education or equivalent teaching qualification
• Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration
• Proven teaching and learning experience
• Previous experience teaching in a flexible learning or alternative education environment is highly regarded
• Extensive understanding of the issues and barriers facing young people at risk
• Demonstrated ability to successfully engage young people through relevant and dynamic learning
• Experience supporting students with disabilities and an understanding of individualised learning approaches
• Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to support students experiencing behavioural challenges
• Ability to provide modified and differentiated instruction and targeted adjustments
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, parents, school personnel, training providers and other stakeholders
• Strong teamwork, problem-solving and organisational skills
• Ability to work respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences
• Current criminal history/working-with-children screening with no adverse or unsuitable findings
