Production Team Leader

Your new company
My client is a leading Australian poultry breeder and producer, supplying customers across the Australian layer industry. With an established operation in Central Victoria, they are looking for an experienced poultry professional who can step into a hands-on leadership role, take ownership of day-to-day activities and get the best out of a small team.
Your new role
Working closely with the Farm Manager, you'll lead a team of 35 Farm Hands and ensure daily production activities are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standards. Your responsibilities will include:

Leading, supporting and providing direction to a small farm team Ensuring daily activities and management instructions are followed through Supporting flock management and poultry handling activities Maintaining high biosecurity, animal welfare and quality standards Monitoring farm equipment and escalating maintenance issues Helping train and develop employees across the operation Supporting the Farm Manager and participating in an agreed on-call roster

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience within commercial poultry, breeding, broilers or layers
• Experience leading or supervising people, ideally within farming or production
• Strong people skills with the ability to build trust and get buy-in from your team
• Experience working with poultry equipment and farm operations
• Reliable, hands-on and comfortable taking responsibility
• Basic computer skills Current driving licence and reliable transport
• Full Australian working rights
