About the Role
Do you love getting hands-on with creative and crafty projects? Do you have a passion or background in sewing, textiles, or working with fabrics?
We are seeking an enthusiastic Production Assistant to join this team in Melton to run and coordinate their in-house Printing & Embroidery department. In this role, you'll play a key part in bringing custom client designs to life across a wide range of garments and branded apparel.
Key Responsibilities
- Embroidery & Printing Setup: Prepare, set up, and operate commercial embroidery machines and garment printing equipment.
- Garment Handling & Framing: Hoop, frame, and align garments with precision to ensure accurate logo placement.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished goods for stitching quality, thread tension, color accuracy, and defects before final packing.
- Finishing & Trimming: Clean up excess threads, trim backings, heat-press, and pack orders neatly for client dispatch.
- Inventory & Maintenance: Monitor stock levels for threads, backings, and inks, and carry out basic daily machine care and routine maintenance.
What We're Looking For
- Craft & Sewing Background: Prior experience or personal exposure to sewing, textiles, dressmaking, or craft hobbies is highly regarded!
- Meticulous Attention to Detail: A strong eye for alignment, color accuracy, and overall product quality.
- Good Hand-Eye Coordination: Comfortable working with physical tools, machinery, and various fabric types.
- Positive Team Player: Reliable, proactive, and happy to roll up your sleeves in a busy production environment.
- Punctuality & Work Ethic: Takes pride in delivering neat, high-quality work on schedule.
