SequreCare is recruiting on behalf of Quad Energy Solutions Pty Ltd (ABN **************), an Australian business delivering energy and electrical solutions. We are seeking an experienced electrical engineer to join the team at its Brisbane office on a full-time, ongoing basis.
About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will design, develop and oversee electrical systems and projects from concept through to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems, including power distribution, switchboards, lighting and control systems.
- Prepare technical drawings, engineering specifications, electrical load calculations and cost estimates.
- Ensure electrical designs and installations comply with AS/NZS 3000 (Wiring Rules), relevant Australian Standards, electrical safety regulations and WHS requirements.
- Plan, schedule and supervise electrical installation, inspection, testing and commissioning activities.
- Investigate and diagnose electrical faults, analyse system performance and recommend appropriate engineering solutions.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, consultants and regulatory authorities to coordinate technical requirements and resolve engineering issues.
- Prepare engineering reports, technical documentation, design calculations, commissioning records and compliance documentation.
- Assess and integrate energy-efficient and renewable energy technologies, including solar PV systems and battery storage, where applicable to project requirements.
- Evaluate electrical equipment and system specifications to ensure technical suitability, safety, reliability and cost-effectiveness.
- Support project planning, resource coordination, scheduling and quality assurance to ensure electrical engineering projects are delivered according to specifications and timelines.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or an equivalent relevant engineering qualification.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Power Systems and Project Management are advantageous.
- At least two years of relevant post-qualification experience in electrical engineering, power systems, electrical design or related engineering activities.
- Sound knowledge of Australian electrical standards and regulations, including AS/NZS 3000 and other applicable standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, PowerCAD and/or other relevant electrical engineering design and analysis software.
- Knowledge of electrical power distribution, load calculations, cable sizing, voltage-drop calculations, electrical equipment selection and protection systems.
- Understanding of electrical installation, testing, commissioning and fault diagnosis procedures.
- Knowledge of renewable energy technologies, including solar PV and battery storage systems, is desirable.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, stakeholder coordination and project management skills.
- Ability to prepare technical reports, engineering drawings, specifications and compliance documentation.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety, engineering quality and regulatory compliance.
- Eligibility for professional membership with Engineers Australia is desirable.
