Lead a team. Deliver innovative technology. Make ACT roads safer.

Are you a hands-on leader with strong operational skills, a passion for road safety and the ability to bring out the best in a team? Join Acusensus and help deliver innovative technology that makes a real difference to communities across Australia.

About Acusensus:

Acusensus is an Australian technology success story with a global presence across Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom and New Zealand.
Founded in 2018, they develop world-leading imaging and artificial intelligence technology designed to reduce road fatalities and injuries caused by distracted and speeding drivers.

Their purpose is simple: saving lives and avoiding injuries. Through innovation, collaboration, integrity, care and a commitment to delivery, we're helping create safer roads and communities.

About the role:
Based in the ACT, the Road Safety Technology Operator (RSTO) Team Leader is responsible for leading their state-based field operations team and coordinating the deployment of our road safety enforcement trailer systems across the ACT.

This is a hands-on leadership role combining people management, operational planning and technical problem-solving. You'll lead, coach and develop your team while ensuring deployments are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with operational, quality and compliance requirements.
Working closely with the Field Operations leadership team, Help Desk, Project Engineers and external stakeholders, you'll oversee deployment schedules, coordinate resources, troubleshoot equipment in the field and support the ongoing performance of our technology.
You'll also play an important role in training and accrediting operators, developing future leaders and contributing to the testing and improvement of their technology.

Your role:

  • Lead, mentor and develop the RSTO team, including recruitment, training, rostering, performance management and team wellbeing.
  • Coordinate the deployment, relocation and retrieval of enforcement trailers and mobile speed camera vehicles in line with operational schedules.
  • Ensure team members are appropriately trained, accredited and authorised for their assigned duties.
  • Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshoot equipment issues in the field, including minor maintenance.
  • Work collaboratively with Help Desk, Project Engineers and fleet support teams to maintain operational readiness and minimise downtime.
  • Deliver training and accreditation for relevant enforcement programs and equipment, including TS1 and TruCAM II.
  • Promote a strong safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and company procedures.
  • Monitor team performance, manage operational issues and escalate risks when required.
  • Support equipment testing, research and development activities, including trials and new technology deployments.
  • Build effective working relationships with road authorities and other stakeholders to support successful deployments.
  • Attend court appearances and provide technical information or evidence on behalf of Acusensus and enforcement operators when required.

About you:

You're a practical, safety-focused leader who enjoys working in the field, solving problems and supporting a team to achieve great results. You can balance operational demands with people leadership and remain calm and organised when priorities change.

You'll bring:

  • Experience leading, supervising or coordinating a field-based or operational team.
  • The ability to safely tow and reverse heavy trailers, with general mechanical knowledge and the confidence to perform minor maintenance.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate schedules, resources and competing priorities.
  • Sound computer skills and the ability to learn new technology and equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with team members, technical specialists and external stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to troubleshooting, decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • A genuine commitment to workplace safety, compliance and responsible driving.
  • A current driver's licence and an exceptionally good driving record.
  • A Year 12 certificate or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in field operations, technical equipment deployment, fleet operations, enforcement or emergency services environments will be highly regarded.

Why join Acusensus?

At Acusensus, your work has a purpose beyond the day-to-day. You'll lead a team delivering technology that helps protect road users and contributes to safer communities.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Make a meaningful contribution to road safety across Australia.
  • Lead and develop a dedicated field operations team.
  • Work with innovative technology combining advanced imaging and AI.
  • Build your technical and leadership capabilities in a growing global business.
  • Be part of a collaborative team that values safety, integrity, accountability and continuous improvement.

What you need to knowThis role involves outdoor fieldwork in all weather conditions, towing and deploying heavy trailers, and occasional domestic travel, sometimes at short notice. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings and weekends will be required to support operational schedules.
