Summary

Our client, Setara Foods Wholesale Pty Ltd, is seeking to add a full-time Truck Driver to its team based in Salisbury Plain, South Australia. The position is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of wholesale food products from the company’s warehouse to customers and other delivery locations, ensuring goods are securely loaded, handled appropriately and delivered on time in accordance with road safety regulations and company procedures.

The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Drive and manoeuvre heavy vehicles to transport wholesale food products to customers and delivery locations.

• Load and unload goods safely and ensure products are correctly positioned and secured during transport.

• Check the condition and quantity of goods against delivery and loading documentation.

• Ensure vehicle loads comply with applicable weight limits and are safely distributed.

• Conduct routine vehicle safety checks and report faults or maintenance requirements.

• Follow scheduled delivery routes and complete deliveries within required timeframes.

• Obtain proof of delivery and maintain accurate delivery and transport records.

• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and comply with road safety, fatigue management, WHS and company procedures.

• Communicate with warehouse staff and customers regarding deliveries, shortages, delays or damaged goods.

Skills Required to Fill this Role

The successful applicant should demonstrate:

• Experience operating heavy vehicles and undertaking commercial delivery work.

• Good knowledge of road safety and transport requirements.

• Ability to safely load, secure, transport and unload goods.

• Ability to work independently and follow delivery schedules.

• Good communication and customer service skills.

• Strong awareness of workplace health and safety requirements.

• Reliability, punctuality and attention to detail.

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:

• AQF Certificate II or III in a relevant field, or at least one year of relevant truck-driving experience in lieu of the formal qualification.

• Valid and appropriate heavy vehicle driver’s licence for the vehicle being operated.

• Relevant experience in safely transporting, loading, securing and delivering goods.
