Summary
Our client WOODCHIP CARPENTRY PTY LTD is a professional carpentry business based in Oakville, NSW, delivering quality services across residential building and construction projects. Our client is seeking to add a Carpenter to undertake varied construction, installation, renovation and repair work while maintaining high standards of workmanship, accuracy, workplace safety and compliance with project specifications and building requirements.
The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
• Study building plans and specifications to determine materials, dimensions and installation requirements.
• Measure, mark, cut and shape timber and other construction materials accurately.
• Construct and erect timber wall, floor and roof framing for residential projects.
• Install door frames, window frames, fascia panels, cladding and other building components.
• Assemble prepared timber and manufactured components into structures and fittings ready for installation.
• Lay sub-flooring, floorboards and associated timber components in accordance with project specifications.
• Check completed frameworks and structures for alignment, levels, dimensions and structural accuracy.
• Cut and form timber joints using appropriate hand and power tools.
• Undertake renovation, maintenance and repair of existing timber structures and building fittings.
• Construct concrete formwork and associated temporary structures where required for building projects.
• Select suitable timber, hardware and materials according to drawings and construction requirements.
• Operate carpentry tools and equipment safely while maintaining equipment in serviceable condition.
• Coordinate carpentry activities with supervisors, tradespeople and other workers across construction sites.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas and comply with workplace health and safety procedures.
• Complete carpentry work efficiently while meeting required quality standards, project schedules and client expectations.
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:
• AQF Certificate III in Carpentry or comparable qualification, or equivalent substantial relevant industry experience, is required.
• Minimum 12 months' recent, directly relevant experience working as a Carpenter or in a closely comparable role.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and measurements accurately across residential building and carpentry projects.
• Strong practical skills in measuring, cutting, assembling, installing and repairing timber structures, fixtures and building components.
• Proven experience using carpentry hand tools, power tools and construction equipment safely, accurately and efficiently.
• Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements, building practices and maintaining safe construction work environments.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining workmanship standards, productivity and attention to construction detail.
• Good communication, organisation and problem-solving skills with the ability to complete assigned work within project timeframes.
