An opportunity is available for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a NSW Government organisation for an initial 4-month contract. Working within a busy payroll function, you will support day-to-day payroll processing while also contributing to system testing and transition activities. The environment is deadline-driven and requires someone who can quickly get across complex payroll requirements and work accurately with large volumes of employee data.
Applicants must have hands-on experience with both SAP Employee Central (EC) and SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP).
Role Responsibilities:
- Processing payroll transactions accurately and within required deadlines
- Supporting fortnightly payroll processing and associated activities
- Maintaining and validating employee and payroll data
- Undertaking payroll reconciliations, audit checks and issue resolution
- Preparing and validating payroll reports and compliance documentation
- Responding to payroll enquiries and resolving payroll-related issues
- Supporting system testing, data validation and documentation as part of ERP/payroll transition activities
- Identifying payroll discrepancies and contributing to process and system improvements
- Ensuring payroll activities comply with relevant legislation, awards, policies and employment conditions
Skills and experence required:
- Hands-on SAP Employee Central (EC) experience
- Hands-on SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP) experience
- Demonstrated end-to-end payroll processing experience
- Experience working within a complex, high-volume or multi-award payroll environment
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, awards and employment conditions
- Experience with payroll reconciliation, data validation and troubleshooting
- High attention to detail and the ability to work to strict payroll deadlines
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Previous government or large complex organisation experience will be highly regarded
