Technical Product Manager

Shape technical hardware products from customers need to launch in a six-month Adelaide contract.

Join a well-established global technology and engineering organisation delivering electrical and connected solutions across residential and commercial markets. This confidential appointment will support a technical product team based in Adelaide.
Your new role
Working within a maintenance-focused product squad, you will bridge customers, marketing, product management and engineering. With an initial focus on switches, sockets, dimmers and other wall-mounted hardware, you will help define what customers need and translate this into clear requirements that technical teams can develop and validate. Your responsibilities will include:

• Defining the voice of the customer through engagement with electricians, maintenance stakeholders and reseller channels
• Translating customer and market needs into product requirements, specifications and documentation for engineering teams
• Supporting the Product Owner with product priorities, offering definition and future planning
• Contributing to product and portfolio roadmaps across product iterations and longer development cycles
• Coordinating requirements, validation and launch readiness across engineering, offer marketing, project management, factories, logistics and channel teams
• Testing proposed products and deliverables with customers before mass production, then feeding insights back into the development team
• Providing technical input into launch assets and marketing communications
• Working effectively with remote and international teams, with occasional domestic or overseas travel

What you'll need to succeed
You will bring senior-level experience in technical product development, product marketing, product management or business analysis. You will understand both the what and the how of product delivery and be comfortable converting customer needs into actionable technical documentation. You will also demonstrate:

• Experience across the product development life cycle, including requirements, validation and launch preparation
• The ability to develop product or portfolio roadmaps
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills
• Confidence working with engineers, customers, channel partners and cross-functional teams
• The ability to connect and influence remote stakeholders
• Career ambition and the capability to provide technical leadership
• An electrical, mechanical, engineering or similarly relevant technical background will be highly regarded
