Hays is proud to be partnering with a leading Tier 1 construction contractor to recruit an experienced Site Manager for a landmark project based in Launceston. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing project team delivering a significant commercial construction project with an immediate start available.
The role is expected to run through until late July 2027, with the potential for extension or transition onto future projects within the contractor's pipeline.
Your new role
Reporting to the Senior Site Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of site activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards while maintaining programme and budget requirements. You will coordinate subcontractors, manage site resources and foster strong relationships with clients, consultants and project stakeholders to support the successful delivery of the project.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning, coordinating and managing daily construction activities on site
- Coordinating subcontractors and site personnel
- Driving safety, quality and environmental compliance
- Monitoring programme milestones and project progress
- Conducting site meetings and toolbox talks
- Resolving site issues and maintaining productivity
- Liaising with clients, consultants and project stakeholders
- Ensuring works are completed in accordance with project specifications.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on commercial, industrial or large-scale construction projects
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Encouraging and motivating demeanour
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple subcontractors and site teams
- Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and site compliance requirements
- Current White Card
- Relevant qualification and industry experience.
