Our client, Bridgestone Select Rockdale, is a tyre and automotive service centre located in Rockdale, New South Wales. The business provides tyre services and mechanical servicing and repairs for a range of passenger vehicles, SUVs, 4WDs and work vehicles. Their services include vehicle servicing, brake and suspension repairs, wheel alignment, steering, exhaust, air-conditioning and general mechanical repairs.

Bridgestone Select Rockdale is seeking to employ two (2) Motor Mechanics to support workshop operations and undertake the servicing, diagnosis, maintenance and repair of customer vehicles. The Motor Mechanics will be responsible for carrying out scheduled servicing, inspections, fault diagnosis, repairs and maintenance on a range of motor vehicles, ensuring work is completed safely and in accordance with manufacturer specifications and workshop requirements.

The annual salary for this position is $80,000 to $85,000.

Duties include:

  • Inspecting vehicles to identify mechanical faults and defects.
  • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and testing procedures.
  • Performing scheduled servicing and routine maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Repairing and replacing defective engine, transmission, braking, steering and suspension components.
  • Inspecting and servicing braking systems and replacing worn brake components as required.
  • Carrying out wheel, steering and suspension inspections and repairs.
  • Removing, repairing and replacing vehicle components using hand and power tools.
  • Conducting engine performance checks and identifying causes of mechanical faults.
  • Servicing and repairing vehicle cooling, exhaust and air-conditioning systems.
  • Performing tyre-related mechanical services, including wheel removal, fitting and balancing where required.
  • Conducting post-repair testing and road tests to verify that vehicles are operating safely and correctly.
  • Maintaining accurate service and repair records and reporting identified faults, required repairs and completed work.

Qualifications:

  • Should have a minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience.
  • Must hold aCertificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology and two (2) years of relevant experience; or a Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis.
