Carejobz is recruiting a Nurse Unit Manager for the anaesthetic nursing team at a well-regarded private hospital in Newcastle. This role suits a Senior Registered Nurse with significant anaesthetic experience who enjoys leading people, supporting clinical excellence and improving how a department runs.
About the Facility
Our client is a well-regarded private hospital in Newcastle with a busy perioperative service across a main hospital and a dedicated day surgery centre. The hospital runs operating theatres, endoscopy suites, cardiac catheterisation labs and an ICU, with radiology and pathology onsite.
The Role
You will report to the Perioperative Services Manager and lead the anaesthetic nursing team across both the main hospital and the day surgery centre. You will work in a fast-paced, efficient, patient-focused environment, alongside a team of Clinical Educators, and as a key member of the perioperative leadership team.
In this role, you will:
- Lead, support and mentor the anaesthetic nursing team across two sites
- Make sure patients receive high-quality, safe care
- Provide support to Visiting Medical Officers
- Work closely with multidisciplinary stakeholders to keep the department running smoothly
- Drive clinical leadership, team development and service improvement
What You Will Bring
Essential:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Significant anaesthetic nursing experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and support a team
- Commitment to clinical excellence, patient safety and quality improvement
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
