ABOUT THE ROLE

Mounties Care is seeking compassionate and experienced Casual in home Support Workers to provide support for a client living in Carlingford.

This role involves supporting a client living with advanced dementia/Alzheimer's disease and requires someone who is patient, understanding, and experienced in delivering person-centred dementia care.

We are looking for support workers who can assist with a variety of shifts ranging from 3 to 10 hours in duration, depending on client needs and your availability. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking flexible casual work while making a meaningful difference.

As a Support Worker, some of your duties will include but are not limited to: 

  • Providing high-quality respite care and support in the client's home
  • Supporting a client living with advanced dementia/Alzheimer's using a calm, reassuring, and person-centred approach
  • Assisting with personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming, toileting.
  • Providing companionship and social engagement
  • Supporting community access, including outings and recreational activities
  • Assisting with meal preparation and light household duties
  • Monitoring client wellbeing and reporting any changes or concerns
  • Encouraging independence while maintaining the client's safety, dignity, and comfort
  • Working collaboratively with family members and the care team

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate will ideally have:

  • Demonstrated experience supporting people living with dementia or Alzheimer's disease (essential)
  • Experience in aged care, home care, community care, or disability support
  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or equivalent) – desirable
  • A caring, patient, and compassionate approach to care
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage behaviours associated with dementia in a calm and professional manner
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current driver's licence, reliable vehicle, and comprehensive insurance
  • Current COVID-19 vaccinations (minimum two doses)
