Currently, we have a vacancy for a full-time carpenter who has the skills and expertise and to work independently as well as in team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Reading and interpreting building plans, drawings and specifications.
• Measuring, marking and cutting timber and other materials to required dimensions.
• Constructing, erecting and installing frameworks, including walls, floors, roofs, ceiling frames and partitions.
• Setting out and installing floor joists, wall frames, roof trusses and structural components.
• Constructing and installing doors, window frames, stairs, skirting boards, architraves and mouldings.
• Installing timber flooring, decking, cladding and other building components.
• Building and erecting formwork for concrete structures, where required.
• Repairing, renovating and replacing damaged timber structures and fittings.
• Selecting and using appropriate hand tools, power tools and carpentry equipment.
• Checking dimensions, levels, alignment and structural accuracy.
• Following workplace health and safety requirements, including safe use of tools and equipment.
• Coordinating with builders, engineers, subcontractors and other trades on construction sites.
Other Skills:
• Sound knowledge of construction materials, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Competency in operating a range of demolition equipment and tools.
• Familiarity with hazardous material identification and handling procedures
• Strong physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labour in various weather conditions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Eligibility Requirements:
• AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV
• OR
• Three years of experience to substitute the formal qualification.
• At least one year of experience as carpenter.
Salary: $82,000.00 - $85,000 per year plus superannuation
