We are seeking an energetic, highly organized, and visionary Head of Sport (Secondary School) to lead and manage the Secondary School inter-school and intra-school sporting programs across Years 7 to Year 12. Reporting directly to the Deputy Principal (Secondary), you will oversee the strategic direction and daily operational excellence of our Secondary sports program. Whether driving athletic pathways or fostering broad recreational participation, you will build an inclusive environment where every student thrives. 

Key Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Program Leadership: Develop and execute an engaging, inclusive and high-performing Secondary Sport vision that aligns with the College’s strategic goals.

  • Participation & Excellence: Balance programs to cater for both broad recreational participation and high-performance representative team pathways.

  • Culture & Values: Foster sportsmanship, team pride, resilience, and College (ruach) across all sporting endeavors.

  • Association Liaison: Represent Mount Scopus Memorial College at relevant EISM inter-school sporting programs, attending delegate meetings and coordinating fixtures.

  • Coaching Staff Management: Recruit, onboard, deploy and evaluate casual coaches, allocated to sport/team management and supervision.

  • Safety & Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to Victorian Child Safe Standards, risk management protocols, and student welfare during sports activities.

About You

You are an experienced educator and sports administrator who brings energy, structure, and passion to everything you do.

What you bring to the College:

  • Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Education, Sports Science or equivalent with current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.

  • Proven Track Record: Experience leading or coordinating Secondary School sports or major co-curricular programs in an independent school setting.

  • Administrative Capability: Exceptional organizational and digital skills to seamlessly manage complex logistics, rosters, venue allocations, and budgets.

  • Leadership & Culture: Strong interpersonal skills to inspire staff and students alike, building team pride and sportsmanship.

  • Safety First: Up-to-date First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma certifications, alongside deep expertise in excursion risk assessments.
