WHS Specialist | Part time | 12 months FTC | Sydney/hybrid | up to 133k + 15% Super pro rata
An exciting opportunity for an experienced WHS professional to join a purpose-driven organisation and play a key role in embedding and maturing its Work Health & Safety framework. This position has a strong focus on psychosocial safety, wellbeing, trauma-informed practice and injury management.
The RoleSignificant work has already been completed to identify psychosocial hazards and develop WHS policies. The next step is implementation, governance and continuous improvement.Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing and embedding WHS policies, procedures and frameworks
- Establishing WHS governance, reporting and review mechanisms
- Supporting psychosocial risk management and wellbeing initiatives
- Developing trauma-informed support programs and employee resources
- Delivering WHS advice and risk management guidance to leaders
- Managing injury management and return-to-work programs
- Implementing early intervention and rehabilitation frameworks
- Monitoring WHS performance and driving continuous improvement activities
About YouTo be successful, you will demonstrate:
- Strong WHS experience within the Australian Public Service, Federal Government, State Government or a similarly regulated public sector environment
- Experience establishing or enhancing WHS frameworks and governance structures
- Expertise in psychosocial hazards, psychological safety and employee wellbeing
- Experience with trauma-informed practice and support programs
- Injury management, rehabilitation and return-to-work experience
- Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and compliance requirements
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, consultation and communication skills
Essential Requirements
- Previous public sector experience is essential
- This is a Federal Government role, therefore all suitable candidates must be Australian Citizens.
