Fully Remote Temporary Assignment for 6 months

Your new company
This local government organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement and Contracts Officer to join the team on an initial 6-month temporary contract, with the potential for extension based on future business requirements. Working in a collaborative environment, you will partner with key stakeholders across the organisation and play a pivotal role in delivering compliant and value-driven procurement outcomes.

Your new role
Reporting to the Manager Finance Strategy and working alongside the Procurement and Contracts Coordinator, you will provide end-to-end procurement and contract management support across a diverse range of projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting internal departments to develop and finalise procurement scope documents
  • Coordinating the advertising of formal RFQs and tenders through platforms such as VendorPanel and TenderLink
  • Facilitating evaluation processes and supporting evaluation panels
  • Drafting and managing procurement contracts valued at $30,000+
  • Supporting contract performance reviews and post-contract evaluations
  • Providing procurement advice and guidance to stakeholders across the business
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and procurement capability development activities

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:

  • Demonstrated experience in procurement and contract management within a Local Government environment
  • Strong understanding of procurement legislation, policies and compliance requirements
  • Experience managing formal RFQ and tender processes from planning through to contract award
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and guide internal clients
  • Strong contract drafting and administration experience
  • The ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment
