    Practice Nurse – General Practice

Join the PHMC family in Mackay!

    Full-time or part-time

  • Flexible, family-friendly hours
  • No weekends. No after-hours.

Picture finishing work at 5pm or earlier and having every weekend free, without giving up the clinical variety you love.

At Paul Hopkins Medical Complex (PHMC), we've been caring for the Mackay community for almost 100 years. We have three clinics across Mackay: Brisbane Street, Andergrove (Celeber Drive) and Shakespeare Street. We're a busy, well-established practice with a big heart and a great sense of humour, and we look after our staff as well as we look after our patients.

We're looking for 1 – 2 friendly, capable Practice Nurses to join our nursing team. You might be an experienced GP nurse, you might be moving over from hospital or aged care, or you might be a new grad curious about primary care. Whichever it is, we'd love to hear from you.

    Why nurses love working here

    • Your weekends are yours. Monday to Friday only, between 7:30am and 5:00pm

    • Hours that fit your life. Full-time, part-time, school hours and family-friendly rosters are all on the table

    • Great pay. $35–$45 per hour, above award, depending on experience

    • Real variety. Procedures, wound care, diagnostics, chronic disease management and health assessments, so no two days are the same

    • Grow your skills. Training and upskilling are encouraged and supported - we give you up to $500 cash back each year for CPD relevant to your role.

    • You'll never be left guessing. Strong systems, clear processes and a team who are happy to help

    • A culture that feels good. Kindness, teamwork, open communication and a no-blame approach. And yes, we enjoy coming to work.

What your day could look like

    • Working alongside our GPs with minor procedures, wound care and diagnostics (ECG, audiometry, spirometry)
