Salesforce Platform Manager
Package: Up to $210K base + 12.5% bonus + super
Reports to: VP of Engineering
Direct Reports: 12 (2x admins, 8x engineers, 1x Tech Lead, split 50/50 onshore/offshore)

The Opportunity:
Most CRM management jobs aren't true leadership roles at all. They're project management wearing a Salesforce badge, chasing vendors and sitting in status meetings, reporting up instead of deciding anything.

This one is different. You own the platform and future-state roadmap, rather than delivering someone else's project or vision.

You'll join an ASX-Listed FinTech helping Australian citizens keep more of what they earn through pre-tax salary sacrifice. Their award-winning platform simplifies complex financial admin for over 13,000 employers and nearly half a million users.

Salesforce sits at the centre of how the business runs. Close to 800 users touch it every day. And right now, it's carrying real technical debt: over-customisation, inconsistent governance, competing priorities pulling it in every direction. Fixing that properly is the job.

This is a hands-on, technical player-coach role, for someone already sitting in a platform ownership capacity. Not an Architect or Project Manager for whom platform ownership is just one part of a broader remit.

Here's what you'll cover:

  • Own the Salesforce platform and roadmap end to end, including architecture, governance and release decisions, and clean up the technical debt already in the system
  • Lead the team in-house first: contractors absorb demand spikes, they don't own delivery
  • Own the target-state strategy for the platform, including its expansion beyond CRM into Marketing Cloud and Data 360 as part of a broader marketing technology direction, this strategy component is what sets the role apart from a standard Salesforce manager position
  • Manage Salesforce partners and hold them accountable for quality
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Operations and executive stakeholders, translating business needs into platform solutions and pushing back where requirements don't hold up
  • Drive platform maturity: sandbox strategy, org consolidation, licensing, security tooling (Shield, encryption, Health Check), CI/CD and test automation
  • Evaluate and roll out Einstein AI and Agentforce capability, building responsible-use standards and governance as you go. This is about growing what the team can deliver, not shrinking the team itself
  • Build career pathways within the team, developing administrators toward senior and lead positions

What You Bring:

  • A genuine engineering background; this doesn't have to be a career spent entirely in Salesforce, but you need real engineering fundamentals followed by hands-on time in the platform
  • A track record of owning platform governance and roadmap directly, not just executing against someone else's
  • 3+ years directly leading a team of 5 or more, around 10 years total across Salesforce administration or engineering as a guide
  • Hands-on experience with Einstein GPT or Agentforce
  • Multi-cloud experience across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud or Experience Cloud
  • Experience managing Salesforce partners and holding them accountable for quality
  • Certified Salesforce Administrator and Consultant
  • 5+ years in application support with ITIL process experience
  • Familiarity with AI-driven marketing automation or LLM-powered personalisation

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
