Exciting opportunity to join a government organisation that is currently seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to take ownership of end-to-end payroll operations within a complex and fast-paced environment.
This position will see you responsible for delivering accurate and compliant payroll services while providing expert advice on payroll legislation, enterprise agreements and employee entitlements. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will play a key role in maintaining payroll integrity, improving processes and supporting payroll systems administration.
Your New Role

Your role will include but not be limited to the following day-to-day duties:

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing across a medium-sized workforce
  • Process payroll adjustments, terminations, leave administration and reconciliations
  • Interpret enterprise agreements, legislation and employment conditions
  • Ensure compliance with PAYG, Superannuation, Payroll Tax and other statutory obligations
  • Prepare payroll reports and workforce data for management and business stakeholders
  • Maintain payroll data integrity and support payroll system upgrades, testing and improvements
  • Provide specialist payroll advice to employees and managers
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, reporting and service delivery

What you'll need to succeed

  • Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end payroll in a medium to large organisation, ideally within the Government sector
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation & compliance requirements
  • Experience with payroll systems, ideally PayGlobal
  • Experience interpreting enterprise agreements, awards and employee entitlements
  • Proven payroll reconciliation and reporting capabilities
  • Experience working with payroll and HR information systems
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills and problem-solving ability
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and customer service skills
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and process enhancement
