Financial Accountant | 6-Month Contract Opportunity | Offering Hybrid 2-3 Days Onsite

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join a well-established and growing Australian business operating across multiple sites in Queensland and New South Wales. This initial 6-month contract offers the potential to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate. Reporting to an experienced Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the general ledger while supporting month-end reporting, compliance activities and business improvement initiatives during a significant period of transformation and growth. This role would suit an experienced Financial Accountant seeking their next challenge, or a first-time mover from a mid-tier CA firm or audit background who is looking to step into industry.
Your new role

• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and balance sheet
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Support month-end reporting processes
• Assist with statutory and compliance requirements
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting
• Contribute to process improvement and system enhancement initiatives
• Work closely with operational stakeholders across the business

What you'll need to succeed

• CA/CPA qualified or working towards completion (ideal but not necessary)
• Background in Business Services, Audit or Financial Accounting
• Experience within a mid-tier accounting firm or commercial environment
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and reconciliations
• Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• ERP system exposure, ideally SAP, will be highly regarded
• Power BI or ERP implementation experience advantageous but not essential
