About the Position
Our client SINGH PLANTATION PTY LTD is seeking an experienced and permanent skilled Irrigationist to join our agricultural operations team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining farm irrigation systems to ensure efficient water distribution, optimal crop growth, and sustainable water management practices. This role involves monitoring irrigation performance, managing irrigation schedules, maintaining infrastructure, and supporting improvements to farm water management systems.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and maintain irrigation systems across farm operations to ensure efficient water usage and reliable crop performance.
• Monitor soil moisture levels, weather conditions, and crop water requirements to develop effective irrigation schedules.
• Operate, inspect, and maintain irrigation infrastructure, including pumps, pipelines, and irrigation equipment.
• Identify and troubleshoot irrigation system faults and implement corrective actions to minimise disruptions.
• Support sustainable water management practices through effective irrigation planning and resource management.
• Assess and calculate hydraulic requirements for irrigation systems.
• Develop and implement irrigation programs based on crop requirements and environmental conditions.
• Schedule irrigation activities to ensure adequate water supply and plant health.
• Select, operate, and manage pumping systems for efficient irrigation operations.
• Interpret irrigation plans, designs, and technical specifications for system implementation.
• Supervise irrigation system installations and ensure work is completed according to specifications.
• Monitor irrigation equipment performance and conduct repairs or adjustments where required.
• Maintain irrigation records, including water usage, schedules, and system performance data.
• Work closely with farm management and production teams to support efficient crop production.
Skills and Requirements
• AQF Certificate II or higher qualification.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in irrigation management or agricultural irrigation operations.
